FEATURING DORTELL WILLIAMS - The United States criminal justice system treats the issue of family violence, also known as domestic violence, as a problem to be solved by police intervention and incarceration. Much of this type of violence is underreported, and, far too often, incarceration only worsens the violence by continuing cycles of trauma. 

Today, our regular correspondent Dortell Williams will discuss what family violence is, and how we can truly address it without relying on policing and incarceration.
