Anarchist writer and activist Peter Gelderloos visited Helsinki 8th of May 2023 and encouraged discussion on successful resistance against anti-ecological megaprojects and ecological alternatives around the world, with his new book The Solutions are Already Here - Strategies for Ecological Revolution from Below. The book criticises the coloniality of mainstream solutions and presents ideas for strategic and revolutionary horizons for the movements.
Green energy, electric cars, the anthropocene, and conservation all masquerade as solutions to the ecological crisis, when in fact they represent a part of the crisis that is putting us all in danger. these mainstream "solutions" to climate change are designed to make money and obscure the real dimensions of the problem. unless we understand
the real dimensions and history of the problem, those who created it will continue to use it to violently shape the world and promote their own interests.
