On this episode of Real Israel Talk Radio we are going to continue with our look into Judaism's ceremony of the Kiddush, which is treated also like the blessing of the Challah. Both are New Testament/New Covenant traditions specifically Messianic deriving from the days of Yeshua in the historical period of the Second Temple. Today, they are identified with the Christian church idea of "communion" and/or "the Lord's Supper."
Matthew 26:28 records: "Then he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." Our podcast will specifically take us into a definition of what is the Fruit of the Vine" and what is the "New Covenant" and why we need it. This will show us the biblical reason for the Kiddush and why it is connected to double-fruit prophecy of Isaiah 66:8, "Can a nation be born in a day." What exactly is this speaking about? The rebirth of the historical nation of Israel on May 14, 1948? No, not in the least.
We will also examine Matthew 23:39 when Yeshua said, "You will not see me again until you say...," taking a quote from Psalm 118:26. This will link us to Hosea 14:1-2, which is not about an animal offering but rather about the fruit of our lips, which connects us to Isaiah 29:13, about performing religious practices based on the traditions of man.
