Poetry On Life

The Song of Life

Listen Later

Patience, ain’t no virtue friends

‘Tis the very essence of life,

As we move from breath to breath

Hopefully, with little strife.

Impatience, is no sin either

For, rushing around is natural too,

With the Sword of Damocles, overhead

What does mortal Man do.

Managing Time as best we can

Hours, minutes, Nights and Days,

Not looking for secrets of Dame Destiny

And, what the Book of Life  says.

Let mysteries be what they are

Choose not warrens and the maze,

There’s always light behind the dark

Remember, when confronted by haze.

Hopes must outnumber Despair

For Life to be from Death apart

Learn, we must, from what’s within

The throbbing of the beating heart.

A missed beat or two, always

No more than a reminder, folks,

Life is vibrant and alive

But, sometimes, needs a little coax.

Little moments, precious moments

Like the whispers of the morning breeze,

Life is awesome, Life is grand

Softly, as the rustling leaves.

Like the chirping of the birds

And, the flapping of their wings,

Let the resonance of your words

Be sweet and lilting as the Nightingale sings.

Watch it as a passer- by

Watch Life flow as rivers do,

Silently, to those distant seas

Of the journey, not a clue.

Hum or Holler as you please

The Song of Life must be sung,

Celebration time is always joyful

Bells must chime and be happily rung.
