"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." — Romans 1:16 (ESV)
Greetings:
Welcome to the inaugural episode of "The Liberation Mandate," a podcast dedicated to exploring the intersection of faith, justice, and the call to true liberation in Christ. I’m Dr. Makeda Ansah, and I am honored to be your guide on this transformative journey. This podcast is not just another voice in the echo chamber; it is a clarion call to believers and seekers alike, urging us to turn our hearts back to the only true source of freedom and justice—our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The mission of "The Liberation Mandate" is to boldly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ as the ultimate solution to the world's deepest problems—whether it be systemic racism, political corruption, wars, or social injustices. We live in a world that is increasingly polarized, where toxic narratives flood our daily lives, driving division, fear, and despair. Yet, in the midst of this darkness, there is hope. This hope is not found in political leaders or human institutions, but in the living Word of God, the gospel that brings salvation, redemption, and true freedom.
Our goal is to equip you, our listeners, with the biblical understanding and spiritual tools needed to navigate these turbulent times. We will challenge the toxic narratives of the day, exposing them for what they are, and offering the liberating truth of God's Word as the antidote.
My Personal Testimony
"My name is Dr. Makeda Ansah, and my journey has been one of struggle, growth, and spiritual awakening. Born into a world that tried to define me by its limitations, I was abandoned as a child and raised in the foster care system, where I faced the harsh realities of life far too early. As a Black woman, I have navigated the complexities of identity, the pain of divorce, and the challenges of single motherhood."
"But through it all, I found strength in my faith – a faith that was not handed to me easily, but one that I had to fight for, nurture, and grow into. My journey led me to the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and that God is not distant, but deeply connected to the struggle for justice, for liberation." God our Creator is very much in tuned with Creation. God listens, guides us on our path, and stands up for us, all we need to do is believe, be faithful and pure in heart, be humble, patient and obedient. God avenges evil, and defends the marginalized, and oppressed (Exodus 1-10).
The Message:
As we stand on the precipice of what many are calling the most divisive and chaotic election year in our lifetime, it is clear that we are living in unprecedented times. The air is thick with fear, anger, and uncertainty. Many of us find ourselves caught in the whirlwind of false narratives, half-truths, and outright lies. We see the manipulation of media, the corruption in leadership, and the erosion of truth. Yet, in this moment of great turmoil, I am compelled to speak to the hearts of those who see and hear but are afraid to tell the truth.
A Time to Fear God, Not Man
Fear is a powerful tool, one that has been used throughout history to control and subjugate. Today, many live in fear of a leadership that is eerily reminiscent of the past—leaders who have abused their power, oppressed the vulnerable, and led nations into darkness. In response to this fear, some have sought to create their own forms of leadership, believing that they can craft a better way. Yet, tragically, much of what we see is a repetition of the same failures—a different face, but the same heart of pride and rebellion against God.
This is a warning and a notice to all who fear: the only solution is to turn back to God.
Throughout history, we have seen the rise and fall of empires, the ebb and flow of power, and the fleeting nature of human solutions. But there is one constant, one unchanging truth: God is sovereign. He alone holds the keys to true liberation and justice. In Proverbs 9:10, we are reminded, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
I know that many have lost faith in God due to the failures of the church, the hypocrisy of religious leaders, and the overwhelming presence of evil in society. But I humbly ask you to reconsider. To seek God is not a sign of weakness but a sign of courage and great faith. In this world, where truth is often hidden and lies are paraded as fact, it takes incredible strength to stand up and say, "I will trust in the Lord."
A Call to Humility and Prayer
As we navigate these turbulent times, let us be humble in our actions. Let us pray for our leaders, even those with whom we disagree. Let us pray for our nation, for the healing of divisions, and for the wisdom to discern truth from falsehood. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God promises, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
Do not sell your soul for a false perception of life. The world offers many temptations—power, wealth, influence—but these are fleeting. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36). The truth is that no political leader, no party, no movement can save us. Our salvation, our liberation, our true justice comes from God alone.
A Call to Repentance and Faithfulness
Now more than ever, we must repent of our sins, both individually and as a nation. We must turn away from the idols we have created—whether they be political ideologies, material wealth, or personal pride—and return to the living God. In Acts 3:19, Peter urges, "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."
Be encouraged, my brothers and sisters. Though the times are dark, we are not without hope. God is faithful, and He is still on the throne. Do not forsake the truth for a lie. Hold fast to your faith, and do not be swayed by the chaos around you. The world may change, but God’s Word remains the same—yesterday, today, and forever.
As we embark on this journey together, I want to remind you that this movement, while invisible, offers the only solution to the world’s problems. It’s not about fame, power, or political influence. It’s about the transformative power of the gospel, the kind that changes hearts, renews minds, and sets captives free.
