In his first-ever sermon, Nick journeys into the story of the Israelites being fed by God in the desert (Exodus 16). He focused in on remembrance - the way that we, like the Israelites, are prone to forget. But as the Source is traveling into a new place, he reminds us of the way that God has been faithful.

A chance encounter with a homeless man in the rain leads Ken down a surprising path towards understanding who Jesus is. Then, he considers the story of Jesus calming the storm from the disciples' perspective, and asks the question they must have faced: are we willing to follow Jesus and learn more about him, even when that information contradicts who we thought he was?

Ken looks at the story of Simeon meeting baby Jesus in Luke 2:22-40 and breaks down the story from 3 perspectives. How Simeon saw God as a cosmic God playing out a play for creation before and beyond his lifetime, how he saw God as someone who cares for each one of us and invites us to participate with him through the Holy Spirit, and how God’s heart was with the poor and unseen. Ken also shares some of the transitions our church is going through and his hopes and prayers for the community in this coming year.

Kaitlyn explores the story of Christ's birth from a perspective we don't talk much about on Christmas Eve – Joseph, and the struggles he must have had. Joseph lived an interrupted life – what does it look like for us if God calls us to do the same?

Andy has to reintroduce himself to the Vine, since he hasn't been able to preach there for quite some time. But he's immediately off and running with stories of Christmas chicken and waffles, sparking microwaves that refuse to be healed, and a very specific bit of preaching he picked up from the head of Houston homicide.

Before he relays the gospels through the real story of St. Nicholas (really!), he wants to talk about the church and its mission - and what being a Christian that acts like Jesus really is.
