Our guests this morning are Gerry Athas-Vazquez and Julie Nunis, Co-Founders of the Theatre Lovers Conservatory.

Gerry Athas-Vazquez lives in Hermosa Beach where she raised her three sons. She is a full-time Realtor with RE/MAX and is celebrating her 10th anniversary as a realtor here in the South Bay. Gerry is also Co-owner of Uncorked, The Wine Shop and The Deck in Hermosa. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Hermosa Arts Foundation where she is Secretary. Gerry earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts from St. John’s University NY. She is a graduate of the Second City Comedy Writers Program and like nearly everyone in LA, Gerry has written a couple of screenplays.

Julie Nunis is a Hermosa resident, wife and mother of two daughters. She graduated from the University of Texas with a BFA in Drama and studied acting at the Actors Center in NYC before coming to LA to work in TV/Film/Theatre. Julie assisted Broadway producer, Joan Stein, on Steve Martin’s play, Picasso at the Lapin Agile shows in NY/SF/Chicago. She took a break from Hollywood to raise her two daughters before directing Love Letters by A.R. Gurney at Hermosa’s 2nd Story Theatre, working with local business owners and local celebrities.

This morning, we’re going to learn about the newly formed Theatre Lovers Conservatory and a fundraiser which will take place at Uncorked on Saturday, September 17 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Steven is a Manhattan Beach based estate planning attorney that has worked in the community for over ten years handling estate planning needs.  As a member of the Manhattan Beach Kiwanis Club, this year he has assumed responsibility for the Manhattan Beach Santa Float, which has been a tradition in the community since 1959.

The Santa Float will be on display at various holiday events, or touring the streets of Manhattan Beach on its assigned routes, from November 30 through December 18.

We have a returning guest this morning, one of our favorite locals, Lou Giovannetti.

Lou is a Bronx-bred New Yorker and THE Beach Cities’ bel canto. He’s a Broadway stage, screen, TV actor and Big Band front man and loves singing the Great American Songbook and jazz classics.

Lou is inspired by Sinatra and Bennett and leans on the legacy of the great Jazz-era musicians and song stylists and celebrates them with fresh arrangements and modern twists.

Lou’s 18-piece orchestra, LOU SINGS SWING, led by Producer and Music Director, Jamey Tate, who also weighs in on drums, features LA’s finest Jazz artists, musician’s musicians and gifted up-and-comers making their mark in concert, film and TV.

Lou and his wife Grace love the beach life and reside in the South Bay?with their two sons Lucio and Santino. They are the former proprietors of?Side Door in Manhattan Beach and have recently opened a new restaurant in Torrance, Primo Italia.

This morning, we’re going to learn about Primo Italia and get the back story on how Lou got back in the restaurant game.

Our guest this morning is Christina Wennstrom of Soap Seas.

Christina is the founder/owner/maker of Soap Seas, an all-natural soap and bath product business inspired by the sea and founded in 2015. Since then Christina has worked and collaborated with the Portofino Hotel, Robbins Brothers of Torrance, the SEA Lab and also sells her products in prime locations throughout the beach cities. She has donated to local charities such as Walk with Sally, Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation and Surfing 4 a Cure. She is the leader of the "Academy of Handmade" South Bay Chapter of Los Angeles, a Redondo Beach Chamber Member, and is active in several community organizations.
