“Paradise found,” he said, standing beside his car with shirts, signs, and handmade treasures spread across a small table just off the beach in Costa Rica. He was waiting on tourists to wander down the sandy path that led to The Monkey Bar, a hidden watering hole tucked back in the woods and a favorite among those lucky enough to find it.
Although English wasn’t his first language, we understood each other just fine. To him, this was paradise. Every single day.
“Just watch out for the monkeys,” he laughed. “They will steal your sunglasses.”
As we navigate our lives, it’s easy to think paradise is somewhere else, somewhere we’re trying to get to. But sometimes it’s already right in front of us. Not just a destination, but a way of seeing. A moment. A laugh. A simple table by the beach.
Remember, be mindful of the world around you and the opportunities it offers. Be present. Paradise often hides in the ordinary, waiting to be noticed.
Have a great day, see you on the radio.
