Astros fans may be a little disappointed after a quiet trade deadline, but we kinda expected a slow one here at the pod. We say goodbye to Spencer Arrighetti and hello to Daulton Varsho on this episode and take a look back on a six-game run that ended with he start of the series with Astros trade partner, the Toronto Blue Jays. Could this be enough to keep the Astros on top of the AL West? With or without a trade haul, the Astros are going to have to win series for the next couple of months. With healthy pitching and a MVP candidate racing for the Triple Crown could it be enough? We discuss this and more on the ep.

Your Houston Astros are currently in second place in the AL West and have a chance to take first if they can get consistent and make moves at the trade deadline. A nice 5 game winning streak and sitting back and letting the Angels beat themselves help, but they’re going to have to figure out their starting rotation yet again with Spencer Arrighetti going to the IL with a foot injury. Also, can the offense (outside of Yordan Alvarez) find consistency too, please? We take a look at the last week for the Houston Astros and even take a brief visit to Dynamo Corner before Baby Cat wakes up.

Abolish ICE
The Houston Astros were swept by the Orioles in their first series back from the break and the vibes are bumming us out, fam. The Stros could only muster 2 runs a game for the series and we need another bat ASAP. Hopefully, the Marlins series will help the team get right but health and a trade are desperately needed. In this episode we ponder if the panic meter needs to be busted out and look at the pitchers before producer Baby Catarina wakes up from her nap! Here’s hoping they get that swag back by playing Miami, but what will it take for this team to get into the postseason? Also, do you have a DJ Khaled impression? All that and more on this ep.

Mr. Bury-Me-In-The-H is traded in a bittersweet day for Houston Astros fans. LHP Colton Gordon is also moved in the deal that sends INF Jayden Fielder and cash considerations to Houston. LMJ will remain a Houston legend forever, but maybe this tough news will be easier to swallow if the Astros are freeing up finances for a big trade to help this team get over the .500 hump. The Astros have been inconsistent this season, but is there reason for optimism at the trade deadline if the team is just a couple of pieces away from getting a playoff spot? We’re cautiously optimistic.

The Astros are known for their slow starts and summer surges, is this year going by the same script? On this episode Space Cadet returns to discuss what impact three of the team’s top stars can have on the success of the team. Spoiler: the impact should be huge! Can the Astros get right with more consistency? We’ll see, but we are optimistic about it on this podcast. And we hope you’re hungry for ketchup and mustard because that’s what the Rockets will be serving next season. What do you think of the new logos and jerseys? We get into it and even stop by Dynamo Corner and visit the Sun!

We promise to start doing more regular podcasts soon enough. We just can’t say when soon enough is! In the meantime, we’re checking in with the Houston teams in one ep. The Rockets season has come to an end and the blame game has begun. But is it even worth it since there will be a lot of returning faces next season? Then we check in with the Astros, while trying to remember that it’s still May and there’s more baseball to be played. Is there enough time and health for the season to turn around? Then we take a peak at the Texans upcoming schedule and the WNBA returning to Houston is official (and bittersweet).

It’s been a while, folks. I was on the IL because anyone close to the Astros is in danger of injury right now. I’m holding my baby and doing the laundry but that doesn’t mean I won’t get a podcast out to recap the last week and a half of Houston sports! How are your emotions? It’s been a tough one, y’all…The Rockets are able to save face and show signs of life on offense through the transition game. But who are you blaming in the blame game? The Astros have been fighting to keep healthy players on the roster, can they still fight to win games? Of course, it’s still April and it’s way too early to bury the team. But can they start winning some series…please. Plus, we ran out of time (it took way too long just to list the Astros injuries…) but we mention the Texans draft picks and will get some scouting your way soon! Thanks for baring with us as we’re juggling life and rebounding from injury!

The Houston Rockets were able to end their season strong. Maybe not on the winning streak we all dreamed of but still a nice strong momentum building finish as they head to the playoffs. As we all prepare for a Rockets/Lakers series we ask: what are your expectations? How are you feeling about this team and have you been playing the blame game this season? We then move on to the injury-ridden Astros. That’s right the hopes of a strong start has been ruined by injuries and short starting pitching performances. We (quickly) recap the longest losing streak the Astros have had since 2013 and look at the good, the bad and the ugly of this Astros squad so far this season. Before you get too far in your emotions the official Space Cadet Sports Houston Astros Panic Meter reminds you that: it’s just April! The team is only 3.5 games back! Don’t let the national-Astros-haters-media get you too worried right now, cálmate! Also, we didn’t get to it by the Connecticut Sun (soon to be Houston Comets) drafted two UCLA Bruins and we’re looking forward to following their season!

Well, the series in Sacramento didn’t go the way we wanted but let’s try to look at the positives that this team is giving us: the offense. The Astros are leading MLB in a handful of offensive stats and even without Issac Paredes the team seemed patient and were able to put up enough runs to win a series. But what happened with the pitching and what can we expect going forward? We look at the last couple of Rockets games this week and recap the wins! Finally we preview the pitching matchups for the series against the Rockies that starts tonight. Get ready for a bullpen game, H-Town! I’m expecting a lot of offense in these games and a series win for the Stros, lemme know what you think.

A three game sweep and five game streak would make any baseball fan happy! But the pessimism from the first two games have melted away as March becomes April and this fool is happy to shove it in the naysayers faces. While it’s just one week of baseball we talk about all the things to be happy about with the 2026 Astros. Is this newfound patience going to be a regular occurrence? Is Lance McCullers Jr back to dominance? Will Altuve lead the Astros in walks? We talk about it all on this episode. Plus, Rockets beat the Knicks (we’re going full throwback)! And we preview the pitchers for the Astros/A’s matchup this weekend.
