  • It Doesn't Sound Very Sexy, But You Need To Get Consistent Action Into Your Locker

‘Consistent application through maintenance of motivation’ is the key according to Gavan!

No one tunes in to The Speed Mentor Podcast and is only pleased with an average wealth, average lifestyle, and average mindset. Everyone here in Wallrus Island wants the real thing—the legacy, the wealth, personal development, unstoppable mindset, etc. All of what was mentioned can be achieved through massive action, which you have heard gazillion times in the previous episodes. Today, we dive deep on how important consistency is in taking every massive action. Once you’ve started something, you must put in the time and effort in every single task regularly so you’ll meet your goal. Discover how you can do it in this episode.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Love yourself. Nobody’s perfect—you got your ugly bits too. It’s time to embrace and own them. These what makes you unique. Transform all your flaws into something where you and others can benefit.
    • Jumping into what you want right away with no assurance that you’ll get rewards at the end of day might be best for you. You learn and experience new things that can help you in your future long-term goals.
    • A great portion of massive action is taking a consistent action. You can’t expect reaping great success at the end if you don’t put in your fullest in the daily grind.
    • How can you be consistent in what you do? Write all your goals, even the very smallest one. Read them every single day or when you need it, just to recalibrate yourself and know where to put your focus and priority every day.

    BEST MOMENTS

“It’s what on the inside that matters, and what we see in ourselves and others that makes the difference of how we love and how we grow.”
  • “Your being, your essence, your identity is based more on what you think and what you do than where you actually born.”
  • “It’s the consistency of the application, it’s the systemisation that they have…”
  • “Action must be consistent or it will amount to no more than you being average.”

  • Revenge, A Dish Best Served Cold... Or Not At All

Every generation has its opinions and wisdom about revenge. We’re taught all too often that revenge should be equal to the crime, and even that we owe it ourselves or those we love, to take revenge when we’re hurt.

But it’s a mindset that holds far too many people back. Why, when we spend so much time planning and mapping out our goals and our path in life, should we then spend so much time away from that plan, so that we can get our own back when we feel we’ve been wronged.

In this episode, Gavan discusses this fascinating issue, and provides you with the tools and examples you’ll need to remain focussed on what’s important.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Every judgment you make is not based on the facts that you believe are true. It’s based on your perception of what fact is. It’s filtered through prejudice, emotion and experience.

    • The energy wasted on chasing these false perceptions is tragic. Imagine the good you could do with that energy. Imagine the time you could save by concentrating on something positive instead.

    • In the heat of the moment, people can feel a burning desire to teach a lesson to those who have wronged us; to make them feel humility or to make them understand what they’ve done wrong.

    • Remember that if this person’s crimes were an extension of their personality, then they’ll most likely learn a lesson when they do the same thing to someone just like them down the line.

    • Set your own personal goals properly. Take care of the stuff that takes you towards them. That’s the part we can control, and the only part we should control.

    • Instead of seeking revenge, aim for more personal success. Remember that karma will take care of the bad guys!

    BEST MOMENTS

‘We’re all different, so why do so many look the same?’
  • ‘Let’s get real. It’s cancerous stuff we’re talking about here’
‘Your perception is probably based on the grey stuff, instead of the black and white you think it is’
  • ‘Get over yourself! Pray for them!’
  • ‘You’ll have an arms race on your hands'
  • ‘Do better. Be better!'

  • ...Is It The Final Curtain?

There’s gonna be a big change on Wallrus Island.

We had to tweak things a bit—in place of daily episodes, The Speed Mentor Podcast will now be publishing once a week, every Thursday. In this episode, Gavan discusses why so listen in!

Your daily companion has to change his schedule due to Project X. There’s no need to be sad! Gavan is planning to give you more content and value, through other formats, avenues and ventures (i.e. Project X). He is very grateful to all of you for sticking it out and joining with him along this weekly journey. He hopes the last 110 episodes were valuable to all of you!

Let him know what you think of this revamp. Start tuning in to know more.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Gavan’s ‘Project X’ is almost on its way and he’s very excited about it. This is his main priority as of now among a huge number of projects.
    • His goal to be the #1 Personality in Northern Belfast is unfaltering. Though the Speed Mentor Podcast can help him produce valuable content for everyone, it isn’t enough for his personal development and to improve his craft. The pursuit of growth always continues.
    • What’s the future for the Speed Mentor Podcast? Gavan is going nowhere. Instead of the daily release of episodes, he’ll put them out weekly.

    BEST MOMENTS

“I share my guerrilla goals to you to keep me accountable.”
  • “It’s very important for you to apply the same thought, principles, and your own mind to your goals to keep you growing exponentially too.”
  • “I don’t want any of you to forget what this journey together has felt like for the last 110 episodes. Bottle up that secret sauce and apply that to your daily life.”

  • COLLABCAST With Best Of Belfast! Share The Treasure

On our final leg of the Slay The Dragon Series, Gavan Wall and Matt Thompson teaches us how to celebrate—how to take in all the successes and how de we enjoy all the treasures we come across in the journey. Though we see the end goal as the ultimate treasure, don’t forget to digest every experience you’ve consumed along the way. Most of the time, these are what influenced as the most—what changed us. When we recognise that we’ve grown so much after our hero’s journey, the final step is the most crucial. Learn how to share the knowledge to other people so you can help them.

Discover more on how you can share the wonderful treasures when you tune in this episode of The Speed Mentor Podcast!

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • It’d be the most fulfilling feeling to celebrate your success if you share it with others. You show your gratitude to the people who have helped you when you pass what you’ve learned to others.
    • Gavan and Matt won’t hear any of your excuses if you say you say there’s no avenue available to share your knowledge. Make use of the internet. There’s social media, which is available for free, where you can produce any content, from videos, podcasts, articles, etc.
    • Take note that not everyone will want your help or support that you offer, but that shouldn’t stop you from contributing value. Take pride on the possibility that there might be one (yes, even one) individual who is growing because of what you put out.

    BEST MOMENTS

    • “The treasure is the knowledge, especially when you share it.”
    • “Change is inevitable but growth is a choice.”
    • “You learn so much. Life is so much richer when you start giving what you have.”

  • COLLABCAST With Best Of Belfast! Enter The Cave

“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure that you seek.”

Are you ready to set out in your journey? The thing is you’ll never be ready. No matter how much you’ve prepared, there will be unprecedented things that will appear--there’s gonna be big challenges, there’s gonna be failure, but that shouldn’t let you stop entering the cave.

We’re on our third part of the Slay The Dragon Series, a collabcast between The Speed Mentor Gavan Wall and Best of Belfast’s Matt Thompson, and this is what we highlight today. Gavan and Matt share their own experiences in slaying their very first dragon. No matter how big or small that is, we always are victorious if we learn or improve something from the quest. They also share some tips, so you won’t be as scared as when your time to enter the cave comes. Start tuning in to know more.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • It’s not only the external factors that you need to look out for when you’re about to set out in a journey; one must also be wary of how our surroundings might change or make us aware of an unknown within us. We may end up confronting the inner conflicts just to win the physical battles.
    • Don’t let your fears and doubts rule your quest. Your task is to show up. You’ll learn and develop as time goes by. And as you move along the journey, just think about how close you get every time to winning while overcoming all your battles.
    • When you’ve slayed your first dragon, you get a taste of how fulfilling and satisfying it will be when you get to the top. Learn from and celebrate these kinds of milestones.

    BEST MOMENTS

    • “A lot of the dragons that we face in our lives at our core we’re actually fighting with the person inside.”
    • “You may go in and face the dragon and you may get burnt. You may actually get your ass kicked the first time you go in.”
    • “It’s okay to be a stopper, but never be a quitter. Be prepared to go again.”

  • COLLABCAST With Best Of Belfast! Meet The Mentor

Who’s the mentor of the Speed Mentor?

If you want to know how successful and influential people found their mentors, then listen to Gavan Wall and Matthew Thompson today.

This Slay the Dragon Series, a collabcast, promises to help you in your hero’s journey. For the diehard Wallruses out there, we’ve long established from the previous episodes of the podcast that NO (hero’s) journey is travelled alone. You need people to help you, motivate you, and collaborate with along the way. A mentor is the greatest person you’ll keep at your side during the expedition. Discover where you can find the best one for you when you listen in.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Find a mentor you’re comfortable with-someone who can empathise with whatever you’re going through and can help you get you out of it.
      • Gavan recalls the first time he openly talked to his mentor about the challenges he was facing. To unload what’s on your mind is freeing and to know that someone’s willing to listen is very encouraging.
      • Matt’s grandmother was a key mentor to him. Wisdom comes with age. It may not be about business strategies, but she thought him about life experiences.
    • Don’t quickly dismiss the idea of paid mentorships. Some might think it might be useless for them since there are a lot of resources which they can take advantage of. But if you really want to commit, consider paid mentorships. These mentors know what the value of what they can do; they know it’s worth paying. And most of the time, where our money goes, our attention goes.
    • For mentees, be clear on what you want first before you approach a prospect mentor. How can he/she help you if you aren’t aware of your purpose. It’s not the mentor’s job to do that for you. He’s there to help you. Besides, these people are who value their time so much. If you meet them, always be ready.

    BEST MOMENTS

    • “The mentor is the one who’s gonna train the hero, prepare them for the journey ahead, and equip them with the right tools.”
    • “For any mentor, to have empathy is as much an important tool as the knowledge of the actual business.”
    • “Every person who will give assistance, add value to them.”

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    BEST MOMENTS

    • “Psychologists refer to that as the lock-in effect. That’s when you commit at something and force yourself into doing it.”
    • “Sometimes in life, it’s better you don’t know because if you knew, you probably won’t go in the journey.”

  • Visualize Your Way To Success

It all starts inside our brain. Every idea, plan and decision gets concocted inside our head. So, as much as possible, we harness the power of our subconscious mind, which is in charge of our belief and actions.

In this episode, Gavan dives deep on how visualisation can help you achieve more. He gives four key reasons to start training yourself in visualising your way to a successful life. When you imagine what you want for yourself, everything will fall right into place. You see what works for you and what not. You know what opportunities to grab and who can help you realise your dreams.

Discover how you can visualise your way to success today on The Speed Mentor Podcast.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Law of Attraction. It states that whatever you think about, fantasize about, and talk about will be attracted into your life. When you believe and start imagining how it feels when you reach your goal, it’s easier to ponder on the resources and the plans you need to get there.
    • Motivation isn’t built to last. It’s important to find inspiration and refocus every day by visualising. Knowing that there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow gets you re-energised if you feel like your energy is depleting.
    • It burns a mental picture, feelings and emotions into your subconscious mind. When this happens, your reticular activating system (RAS) starts working and your goals and dreams become clear.
    • It programs your RAS to notice the resources are already around you. We become observant and resourceful. What we can do becomes limitless because we can see how anything can be turned into an opportunity.

    BEST MOMENTS

    • “Action creates the attraction.”
    • “Your subconscious mind is a limitless resource that you’re hardly tapping into.”
    • “When we reset at the end of the day and build the emotional connection to the achievement of the dream, then you’re ready to go again the next day.”

  • An Episode About Beyonce- Surely Not!

No. Sadly, Gavan won’t be belting out Beyoncé tunes today.

Instead, in this episode of The Speed Mentor Podcast, Gavan highlights what Walruses can learn from Beyoncé and her dedication towards her career, passion, and advocacies. Gavan was definitely amazed and inspired after watching her documentary film Homecoming so he wants to share them to you also.

Beyoncé’s music will remain quintessential throughout the history of pop music. But, how does she does it? How did she build and still grow such a legacy? What can we learn from her as entrepreneurs? Start tuning in to find out the answers.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Homecoming gives us a closer look at Beyoncé’s iconic 2018 Coachella performance and her behind-the-scenes preparations, which lasted for a full 8 months, for it. Aside from starring in it, she is also the director, writer and producer of the film.
    • Though her performance was definitely everyone’s takeaway, it should also be emphasised how Beyoncé became the voice for the oppressed black women. Like her, you can create your followers and believers by knowing how you can use your stature, what you can change and what mark you want to live in society.
    • Beyoncé’s well aware of her talents. She isn’t afraid to mix her craft with her advocacies. She knows that by doing so she can influence others to be self-confident, stand up, and do what’s right.

    BEST MOMENTS

    • “There’s no contradiction in being grateful and chasing down abundance at the same time.”
    • “She says that God has blessed her and all of us, in her view, has a duty to repay that by maximising every talent we got.”
    • “It doesn’t have to be a specific personal development literature. The good stuff is everywhere around us if we look for it.”
