The Spike Feed

Tons of magic news to go over this week. We take a look at Streets of Capena with regard to sealed. And we dive deep into the announcement of Explorer. What does this mean for Pioneer moving forward? How long can Alchemy and Historic last? And most importantly, what decks should you check out for Explorer. We also share our thoughts on the classic Marvel comic series The Ultimates. Thank you for your honor.

Big announcement with regard to organized play. And our level of smug-ness is in the “I told you so” territory. We also talk more Elden Ring and some other stuff. Thank you for your honor.

This week we go over Bant Spirits in Pioneer, and look into what a UW control list should look like in Standard. Will GPs and PTQs come back? Rumors among vendors got us excited. And MTGO is making token where you can have access to all cards, and it makes us wonder what the digital strategy of WTOC really is. Thank you for your honor.

Lots of MtG news with regard to Arena’s economy, so we dive deep into the fray. We also take a hard look at UW control in Standard, and what cards might have a lasting impact for non-rotating formats. We also talk more Horizion: Forbidden West and the Mario Kart 8 expansion. Thank you for your honor.

A kind of quasi banned cast with Lurrus getting the ax in Pioneer and Modern. But we start with talking about our weeks. Pioneer has a new UW control list thanks to March of Otherwordly Light, Wandering Emperor, and the new legendary lands. We also take a look at a Delver list in Standard. In the end segment, we talk about Batman and more Elden Ring. Thank you for your honor.

We spend the majority of the first segment going over our experiences with Standard, and we both continue to find the format to be in a really healthy place. Wizards is bumping up paper pre-release to an early window, and we celebrate this small victory for paper magic. We also talk about two of the biggest video games of the year. Thank you for your honor.

A relatively light news week other than the Alta Fox Capital situation. We talk a little about the Standard metagame, and attempt to remove the letters ‘NFT’ from our vocabulary. We also talk about two new games for 2022. Thank you for your honor. .

Neon Dynasty has dropped, and we have an overwhelmingly amount of positive things to say about it. It’s shaking up Standard. The sealed product is super fun and interactive. And there’s this brief window where Alchemy won’t sully it. We also talk some TV and Lord of the Rings. Thank you for your honor.
