Yesterday’s shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs has been a major topic inside and outside of the sports world, sparking a lot of conversation. What seems to have been a disagreement gone wrong claimed one life and forever impacted far beyond the other 21 that were injured. Before the tragedy on Wednesday was a celebration of the team’s second consecutive championship and Chris Jones might have gotten caught in the moment when he told Chiefs fans he’ll be back next year despite entering free agency. The day after Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers parted ways with defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, the head coach is facing backlash for being the latest to cut Wilks’ opportunity short.

In baseball, the Kansas City Royals have shared plans for a new $2 billion ballpark that hinges on a vote this spring. Last night, the Orlando Magic retired Shaq’s #32, making him the franchise’s first number in the afters, but he shouldn’t have been.

After winning a third Super Bowl AND Super Bowl MVP, the conversation around Patrick Mahomes being the greatest in the game has hit fast-forward. Just days after playing an instrumental part in winning Super Bowl LVIII, Chris Jones is likely going to have to find a new team if he wants to get paid. The Houston Texans are a rising team in the AFC and Jones is just the kind of piece they could benefit from adding. Calvin is still getting around to all of Sean Payton’s interviews from Super Bowl LVIII, and the mixed signals coming from the Denver Broncos head coach surrounding the plans at quarterback are frustrating.
