Last night featured the first knockout games of the 2023 NBA In-Season Tournament, and both games delivered the energy that Adam Silver was surely hoping for. In a surprise turn, the New Orleans Pelicans and the Indiana Pacers eliminated the Sacramento Kings and Boston Celtics respectively to advance to the semifinal round. In college football, the 2023 Heisman Trophy finalists were announced yesterday and once again there’s an argument that Florida State got snubbed. On Monday Night Football, the Jacksonville Jaguars lost the game to the Cincinnati Bengals and their quarterback in the process as Trevor Lawrence is the latest star under center to suffer an injury. Thankfully, it was only an ankle sprain.

On Sunday Night Football, the Green Bay Packers handed the Kansas City Chiefs yet another loss, further making the AFC playoff picture murky. The officials weren’t great, but Calvin doesn’t want to hear it. In the NBA, Ime Udoka was tossed in the game against the Los Angeles Lakers after an exchange of words with LeBron James that crossed the line. After thinking more over the weekend on Mark Cuban’s sale of a majority stake in the Dallas Mavericks, Calvin can see what the bigger play likely is.
