On Sunday in the Women’s NCAA Basketball National Championship Game, the LSU Tigers defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes to earn the school’s first basketball championship. Instead of the game getting all of the attention, however, social media has once again stirred up controversy that is dividing the nation.

Stan Van Gundy caught Calvin’s attention on Thursday night’s telecast when he made comments on the league’s usage of “load management”. Is the practice really good for the players? One of Wednesday night’s key games in the NBA was between the Phoenix Suns and the Minnesota Timberwolves, both of which are in the middle of the tight Western Conference playoff picture. The 2023 MLB season is officially underway with Opening Day action. Calvin looks at the big notes on the first day of action and what he is watching this season. Moving to the NBA, Wednesday night was full of action. Starting our backyard, the San Antonio Spurs secured a top-three pick, but are in play to climb the ladder even more. As for teams in contention for the playoffs, the Chicago Bulls were without Andre Drummond against the Lakers as he has stepped away to protect his mental health. In the same game, Austin Reaves kept his strong season rolling.

Caitlin Clark is getting national recognition for her play in the March Madness tournament, but she’s been a money magnet for NIL opportunities for a while. The guys look at a report that was published this week showing the premium brands she’s lent her likeness to the last couple of years. With the MLB season right around the corner, Calvin already knows THE major story of the season, and it has nothing to do with home runs, big bases, or the WBC. At the Final Four this weekend, the Basketball Hall of Fame will be announcing this year’s class of inductees, but a leaked report has the names. Gregg Popovich, Becky Hammon, Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, and Dwyane Wade are said to have made the cut.
