East Carolina Head Baseball Coach Cliff Godwin rejoins the program with the 2021 season upon us.

A native of Leland, NC, Billy Best had a Hall of Fame career for East Carolina Baseball from 1977-80. Best is still tied for first in career triples with 10 while also ranking 6th in career stolen bases with 53. He helped lead the Pirates to two NCAA Tournaments before being drafted in the 27th Round by the Kansas City Royals in 1980.

UPDATE: East Carolina's game at Cincinnati on Wednesday has been PPD but the Pirates will hopefully play the Bearcats at some point.

An Eastern North Carolina product, Calvin Brown--who played for the Pirates from 1987 to 1990--was a standout for East Carolina and Hall of Fame coach Gary Overton. He ranks sixth all-time in career home runs (37), runs batted in (172) and putouts (1,176).
