During his over twenty years as a professor at Harvard Medical School, he led the team that identified the brain’s biological clock, the suprachiasmatic nucleus, revealing how light synchronizes sleep-wake cycles. He founded the Circadian Lighting Research Center in 2010 where he has pioneered health-optimized, circadian friendly LED lights based on groundbreaking research. He has over 180 scientific publications and 10 books—including his latest, The Light Doctor: Using Light to Boost Health, Improve Sleep, and Live Longer.
