In this year's brief Christmas message Adam reflected on John 1.1-18.  Jesus comes to us in our mess.  He is genuinely personal and knowable.  Eugene Peterson's rendering of verse 14 is: The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.

The book of Romans has been described as God’s legal document and the believers title deed. It is one of the most succinct outlines of the intentional relationship between every believer and the God of Heaven and Earth; the details of how that relationship has come about and the affirmation of our changed status as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven. One of the motivations for Paul's letter was the Gospel coming under attack both by Jews and Antinomians. The Jews insisting that salvation comes from the observance of the Law and the Antinomians believing that if we are saved by grace we therefore have license to do whatever we want. These two extreme views were driving a wedge in the young Church and only the power of the Gospel - clearly defined - would enable the effective spread of this life-changing message. This study of the book of Romans therefore invites us to also depth our understanding of the Gospel as well as allow our hearts to be convicted by the Holy Spirit.

Last year's in the Lead Pastor's Annual Meeting message he focused on our need to have solid relationships within the community build and rooted in love.  He commented that this year we have seEn a great increase in this and that now the challenges is to take we what we have and bring it to a hungry community.  The way we achieve this is by actively working and praying at the same time.
