I've always considered myself to be a pretty fearless person. For a long time, I was willing to let this particular fear linger in my life, but I've reached a point where I can't tolerate it anymore. It's time to face it head-on.
The first time I shared this fear out loud was on stage at a conference in Nassau, Bahamas. During the Q&A, an audience member asked if I was afraid of anything. I hesitated but finally admitted: my biggest fear is becoming even more successful.
Some people in the audience were shocked, but a few understood. That moment was the spark that started me on a journey—a journey that has led me to where I am now, rebuilding my life while successfully running my company part-time.
I've come to realize that the only thing standing between me and the success I deserve and desire is… me. Yes, you read that correctly. I've been holding myself back because of this deep-seated, seemingly irrational fear of success.
This episode of the podcast is my out-loud effort to overcome this fear. I've found that I heal and learn best through talking, and today, I'm talking about belief—specifically, the five beliefs I need to release to get over my fear of success.
As you listen to this episode, I'd love to hear from you: do you ever experience a fear of success? Is there any fear that holds you back from becoming as successful as you deserve and desire?
