Recently, with the release of some Census data, it has become clear that certain states, such as California, will likely lose congressional seats. This has raised an important question beyond just what is happening with our state's population. A broader question of just how, “Democratic,” or, “Republican,” a state is, has come up. Are some states so deeply blue or red that this leads to more members of Congress from one party or another winning elections?
