Welcome back to The Statesmen Podcast. Guess what? Albert finally learned how to read! Taking his new found ability, he is taking charge on research for The Underground Railroad. Apologies for the long break, there's been a lot going on, which we loosely explain in the episode. That being said, this episode was initially supposed to come out in February for Black History Month and we obviously missed that deadline, that's our bad. But, that doesn't take away from the importance of the topic and the struggles that came along with seeking freedom for slaves in America. So dive in for Part 1 of this exciting, yet terrifying tale of The Underground Railroad.

This week The Statesmen talk about good 'ol Massachusetts! There's a lot to see in Massachusetts! Like The Smithsonian, Baltimore and- ....I've just been informed that none of those are in Massachusetts...this is gonna be an interesting episode. 

February marks the beginning of Black History Month. So The Statesmen will be taking a deep dive into some related events that have happened in American History. This week Albert and Ryan discuss The Amistad Case, which involved Portuguese slave hunters abducting a large group of Africans from Sierra Leone and shipping them to Havana, Cuba, a center for the slave trade. However, things take a drastic turn... So where does America fit into all this? What became of La Amistad and it's passengers? Hit that play button and find out!
