In this week's episode we work through two parables on prayer. In those two parables we can learn three important yet simple principals on prayer. We can often make things so complicated--but at the end of the day, so much comes down to the heart.
Today's Passage: Luke 18:1-14
We return to a common theme in the book of Luke: God loves the outsider. God's delight in bringing hope to the hopeless jumps off the page in this encounter with 10 lepers.
Today's Passage: Luke 17:11-19
In this episode we are going to focus on two key words that appear in just a few short verses. These two words are so necessary as we seek to follow Jesus. They're simple, but far from easy.
Today's Passage: Luke 17:1-6
In 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 Paul wrote, "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,"
The early church knew that everything depended on the death and resurrection of Christ. They also understood the Old Testament scriptures foretold that these events would take place.
On this Easter Episode I seek to answer two things:
1) How do the Old testament scriptures point to the death of Christ?
2) How do the Old Testament scriptures point to the resurrection of Christ?
Most people don't like it when preachers start talking about money. As it turns out, that was also true 2,000 years ago. Jesus teaches the Pharisees something about the deception of wealth and eternal realities.
Today's Passage: (Luke 13-31)
This crowd of tax collectors, sinners, pharisees and scribes have now heard two parables about the heart of God. They're all well aware of God's gracious feelings about sinners repenting of their sins. In today's passage Jesus is going to dive even deeper into His teaching on the heart of God. And in this parable, the whole audience is able to see themselves in the parable.
Today's Passage: Luke 15:11-32
Jesus was different. There were groups of people the religious leaders shunned, surely they were too far gone. Yet, those same groups of people were drawn to Jesus. He was teaching about who God really is, how the religious so often missed the mark, and how the good news was better than anyone could have imagined.
Today's Passage (Luke 15:1-10)
Today we find another Sabbath confrontation. Jesus is going to take this opportunity to prophetically call three sins of the religious, three sins that we should all reflect on.
Today's Passage: Luke 14:1-14
On this week's episode someone asks Jesus a very interesting question: “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” That prompts Jesus to dive into teaching on a narrow door and a wide gate.
Today's Passage: Luke 13:22-30
In today's episode Jesus has another encounter with a religious leader on the Sabbath. Through this encounter we will see two things the Lord God clearly values.
Today's Passage: Luke 13:10-17
