In Episode 53 of The Steak Lad Experience, I had the incredible opportunity to sit down with Louis Phillips. 

Louis is a veteran social media influencer who is best known for his beginner running content, which ultimately inspired the creation of the successful app he co-founded called INTVL. 

I am often shocked meeting people who have a large social media following and getting to witness who they are behind closed doors. With this in mind, Louis was by far one of the most genuine and down to earth people I have had the chance to speak to, with our conversation showcasing a side of him rarely portrayed on social media.  

Expect to take out of our discussion the positives/negatives of an intense fear of failure, why you should never tie your self-worth to your social media following, the power that comes from harnessing your unique strengths, the healthy balance between “locking in” whilst still enjoying the finer things in life, the toxic side of social media, the strength that comes from both consistency/discipline and much more.

In Episode 52 of The Steak Lad Experience, I was privileged to sit down with one of the all time greats, Thomas Baulch. 

Similar to lasts weeks guest, Thomas was someone I had been interested to talk to since the early days of this podcast and it most certainly did not disappoint. Having had the chance to listen to our conversation in depth, I am convinced that it is unlike any other he has ever had before and reveals a different side to the social media personality we all know and love.

In Episode 49 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with my grandfather, Des Tobin who at the time of filming had just turned 86 years old.

A few years ago I was at an event and by chance ended up having a brief encounter with Ben. It was during this conversation that I learnt about his incredible story and years later it was impactful enough for me to invite him on the show. 

For context (I won’t give away too much) a few years ago Ben was on a camping trip and was involved in a horrific car accident which almost took his life. It goes without saying that the lessons from this event influenced me deeply and I have no doubt anyone who listens will feel the same. 

Expect to take out of this discussion the eye opening series of events that led to the accident, the psychological impact it had on Ben/how he dealt with it, the importance of understanding death, how a traumatic event changes your view on the world and much much more.
