Pre-trade deadline podcast focussing on injuries to LeBron and LaMelo, leaving Luke a bit worried over the prospects of his Lakers this season. Also a bit of Suns and Spurs chat as we stay out West before the pod takes a turn in the final 10 minutes and becomes ridiculous.
Trade deadline is fast approaching and while it's not exactly the hottest market of all time, there's plenty of interesting moves for us to get our teeth into. John Collins, Aaron Gordon, and Lonzo Ball could all be moved on in the next few days, but to who Chris Kamara? In terms of moves that have already happened, we look at the Meyers Leonard situation that's landed Trevor Ariza in Miami, and the multi-team deal that has landed PJ Tucker in Milwaukee.
John, Luke and Leo are taking an all-star break all of there own, giving us a chance to present an excellent interview Leo conducted with basketballer Tom Ward. Tom played for one of the top 25 high schools in the USA and went on to play Division 1 and Division 2 college basketball in Brooklyn and Vermont. He has also been a pro in Spain and been on the roster for Worthing Thunder in the National Basketball League for the past 8 seasons. He has set up his own basketball school as well as basketball tours business. Enjoy!
On this week's episode, the Atlanta Hawks pull the trigger on the first coach firing of the season, as Lloyd Pierce bites the bullet. We discuss whether the move was justified, and Hawks prospects going forward. We also discuss loyalty in the league, and pick our favourite young players ahead of the rising stars game at All-Star weekend. We end with a game called: 'Devin Booker teammate or broadway musical character'.
Join Luke, Leo and John for this week's Stepback episode! On the agenda today: have the Blazers wasted Dame's career? Is defence undervalued in the NBA today? And are Leo's Wikipedia descriptions Quakers or Lakers? Only the big questions...
John, Luke and Leo return with a typically chaotic episode of NBA chat. The New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons are on the agenda this week, as well as the epidemic of flexing currently being committed by players. They end with a frankly terribly-run game from John, although the quotes are well worth your time.
John, Leo and Luke chat all-star weekend following unenthusiastic comments from the games biggest stars - who'd have thought that a big sporting festival in the middle of a pandemic wouldn't be popular? Nevertheless, the boys pick their starting fives from each conference, before Luke introduces us to his dyslexia.
Join John, Luke and Leo for their weekly breakdown of things that have caught their eye in the NBA this week. Among them is the Houston Rockets playing well, Dallas Mavericks playing badly, and Lebron's 'Courtside Karen'. Leo also attempts to bewitch and baffle in his quiz, which was thereafter named: Lebron or Lebomb... If that doesn't intrigue you nothing will.
John, Luke and Leo are back as the league reaches the quarter-point mark. On the agenda today: the Cleveland Cavaliers ten centre-roster looking surprisingly fun, the Minnesota Timberwolves being the worst franchise in history, and the Utah Jazz being the best-named team in franchise history (as well as playing quite well).
The boys are back to discuss Sea Shanties, Kenny Sailors, and a minor trade that may have happened this week. No but seriously, how is this Nets team going to cope with James Harden joining Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and how will the rest of the league react. Luke and Leo also teach John how to gamble, which can only end well.
