Two years ago, on October 29, 2024, a stroke changed my life—and the lives of Bobbi and our family—in an instant. In Episode 441, “Stroke-aversary,” I catch everyone up on where I am today, including those headaches, the ongoing challenges of recovery, and the milestones worth celebrating.

I also share an update on Stroke of Genius: Back Nine, my journey back to golf after my stroke. Getting back on the course has become about so much more than golf—it’s about rebuilding confidence, rediscovering joy, and seeing what’s possible, one small step at a time.

Along the way, I had an unexpected realization. As I reflected on the people I missed seeing, I noticed that nearly every name on my list was a Jewish friend. It's a funny and honest observation that sent me down a rabbit hole of memories and appreciation for friendships that have lasted decades.

Forty years. How is that even possible?

A special thank you goes to Tim Raynor for his kind words. Along the way, I also discover that I apparently forgot where the apostrophe belongs when making someone's name possessive. (Is it Raynor's? Thankfully, English teachers aren't grading this podcast.)

Sometimes the title comes first.

Sometimes the episode comes first.

And sometimes... neither one shows up.

Welcome to Episode #433, appropriately titled "[Placeholder]", because even after recording it, Ro wasn't entirely sure what to call it—or even what the first third of the episode was about.

Somewhere along the way, however, inspiration strikes as Ro develops the concept for Bathroom Assassin, a movie that absolutely should star legendary adult film actor Rocco Siffredi. Is it a thriller? A comedy? A cinematic masterpiece? That remains to be seen, but the brainstorming session is half the fun.

The episode wraps up with something a little more grounded as Ro discusses navigating three very different situations while enjoying the Tampa Bay Rays' visit to Kauffman Stadium for their series against the Kansas City Royals. It's a reminder that even amid life's chaos, baseball still has a way of bringing everything into focus.

Like many conversations on The Stoned Genius, this episode wanders without a map, stumbles onto a few unexpectedly entertaining ideas, and somehow ends exactly where it was supposed to.

What happens when a WNBA player starts reminding you a little too much of... yourself?

In Episode #432, Ro wonders if Indiana Fever enforcer Sophie Cunningham could somehow be his long-lost daughter. Not because of genealogy—but because of attitude, competitiveness, and a willingness to stir things up on the court. The similarities are... unsettling.

Then the conversation takes another unexpected turn when Ro addresses the uncanny resemblance he's been told he shares with legendary adult film star Rocco Siffredi. Coincidence? Genetics? Pure internet nonsense? You decide.

And perhaps the biggest surprise of all... THE BAG continues to evolve. What started as a joke has taken on a life of its own, changing shape in real time during the recording of this very episode. At this point, nobody—including Ro—is completely sure where it's headed.
