The Stories We Sleep To

Send us a text

Guys.  I recorded an episode and then after clicking 'finish' I was told that an 'Unknown error occurred, please refresh to try again' and, upon refreshing, I was greeted by 'Some files could not be loaded' 'Some files' being ALL FILES I AM GOING TO LOSE MY CENSORING_BLEEP.MP3!!!

But anyway, because it is very late and I cannot be censoring_bleep.mp3ed to re-record, you are going to have to deal with 20 minutes of sleep sounds. Enjoy.

YIPPEE! CONSISTENCY! AT LAST! (I'M DYSLEXIC! PLEASE DON'T JUDGE MY SPELLING!)

I'VE DONE IT! I'VE ACHIEVED CONSISTENCY! Touch wood, but... Maybe I can continue to be consistent? 🪵🤛

But anyway.

I'm glad that this is going well.

I've even been more consistent than my travel blog! *casually drops random bombshell*

But yes.

Thank you

Guys, I did another oopsie.

Instead of being intelligent and looking at the table of contents included in the e-book, I just sort of assumed that it was chapter 1: Playing Pilgrims, the first chapter of the first part titled 'Playing Pilgrims". I was wrong. It was a publishing error, and so it's just Chapter 1: Playing Pilgrims. It is in part one, but part one is merely called 'Part First', so... Yes... Also I'm not allowed to edit my episodes post-release, so you're just going to have to do this magical thing called DEALING WITH IT.

But anyway, at least I've bothered to have some form of 'Not leaving a massive gap between episode releases' attitude, so, that's a positive right?

I also tried to pre-record an episode, but forgot to press record so I'm actually quite sad. Mum just laughed at me when I told her.

So, I know what you're thinking, what the censoring_bleep.mp3 is that title? Well, let me explain to you that this book is divided into parts, and those parts are divided into chapters, but those chapters are so long that I cannot record a full one in 20 minutes, so this is Chapter 1 of Part 1, both of which are named 'Playing Pilgrims'

But its Little Women! Just a random book, nothing to do with the current political climate or any recent events or laws that have been put in place; just a random book.

Also because of the whole problem with the chapters, each episode will not receive a unique artwork, but instead share the same artwork.

Gosh I'm actually quite disappointed in myself at how bad this podcast has turned out. Why can't I commit to anything?

MEGA COMPILATION!

If it loads. It is taking all of the many eons.

But anyway. This is a 65 odd minute long compilation of all 3 episodes of The Adventure of The Western Star. It will have many jumps and skips, so sorry, but I also listened back to it and OH MY DAYS you cannot hear A WORD Poirot says, so I've included a spoilersful description at the start. Sorry. I'M WORKING ON IT OK?!

But anyway, thank you for your patience.

❤️

P.S. Suggestions for books always accepted

Here's another one.

I sincerely doubt that I will get this book finished next episode. Maybe the episode after. Keyword maybe.

Either way, I have now ditched the noise cancellation all together. It kept breaking and cutting out bits I wanted to keep, so you're just going to have to endure the pain that is house sounds...

SUCH TORTURE!

Anyway, that's all for today.

I'M BACK!

The Books we sleep to has returned with Series 2: Poirot Investigates

I got my description COMPLETELY wrong, it is not an anthology, it is just a bunch of books published at the same time. Damn internet lying to me again.

I'm not sure how to divide this so we'll just have to take a look at the length of the books and see where to go from there. Anyway, I think we might get a good 20ish episodes out of this depending on what happens.

Also - my noise cancelling software has yet again failed to accommodate my needs and so we are ditching that in favour of a soon to be purchased formal podcasting mic.

Yes.

ITS OVER! I'M NOT READING ANY MORE!

Of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Because the book's finished. Geez. Stop being such an alarmist. Gosh.

This episode is the Series 1 finale, and next series (tomorrow), I will be releasing Series 2: Poirot Investigates. And also, on the 22ndish of March, I will be releasing a MEGA COMPILATION of all the episodes squished into one.

Yippee!
