Alchemy—The study of potions and their effects. Alchemists use ingredients common and uncommon, botanical and mineral and biological, arcane and mundane. With specialized tools and techniques, a skilled practitioner can create potions with nearly any effect. Like any discipline of magic, however, alchemy is inherently unpredictable, and a potion is more than the sum of its parts—its ultimate effect might be entirely unexpected, by the alchemist or the potion's user.
