On this episode, we talk about how both major and minor events can bring about grief, how this deep set of emotions presents itself in the body, and how we can heal ourselves and help others. We delve into the complexities and deep pain of burnout, death, and loss and talk about profound healing.
My guest is Marelda Rodrigues, FMCHC, CNMT, of Move Beyond Grief. Mareldca is a Grief Massage Therapist and Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, author, speaker, traveler and culinary enthusiast, with over 20 years of experience in the health and wellness space.
Through Grief Massage Therapy, Marelda helps her clients feel comforted when they are most vulnerable, allows them the space to navigate emotional unknowns of grief and loss, and gain control one step at a time.
Marelda’s wellness coaching programs help clients with mindset, food and lifestyle habits vital to staying healthy, adapting to losses, and building emotional resilience. Her clients emerge from their transformation feeling revitalized, confident, and powerful.

For terrible photos of my trip, check out our Facebook and Instagram. Also, please forgive the movement sounds on my microphone as I was working with a handheld this time around.
I recorded this story awhile back, so I think it’s important that I acknowledge the highly publicized recent disappearance and death of Gabby Pettito, who went missing while on a cross-country trip with her fiancée.
Her age and the fact that she is also from Long Island and that she set out almost exactly 28 years from the time of my trip, have haunted me.
I am thankful that there are no other obvious parallels between us and I am praying for her family and loved ones that they find peace and justice.
My story is light in nature, and for entertainment purposes so it’s important that as the listener, you can separate the two. If you find the aforementioned triggering, please revisit this show at a later time. I won’t be offended.

This episode contains lots of swear words and is intended for listeners over the age of 18.

On this week's episode, I continue my conversation with Amy where we discuss her son's difficult diagnoses from the time he was very young, the organization she founded to help families like hers, and she reveals how she came to adopt three children -- 26 years apart. The details are riveting and Amy gracefully and fearlessly discusses the ups and downs.
Adult content.
Please note: Throughout the episode, I mention Amy's organization, CAPPSKIDS.org and mistakenly label it as a foundation. My apologies.
Welcome to The Story Attic. Please enjoy our song while you await our first episode of storytelling.
