S6E30 went out live on Rebel Rock Radio 7 pm sharp on 27 July 2023. There was plenty to celebrate, it’s been a long week and the cast members of TSORR Central were all partying up a storm at TSORR musical Director Ahol’s place. I was not able to join them sadly because I had to do the soundtrack for their party.
We kicked off with Cinderella Night Songs seeing as that is what we were listening to. It was one of the most fun shows yet mainly due to the wonderful participation from people of the TSORR Central Whatsapp group. If you want to join find TSORR on Facebook or Twitter or let me know on [email protected]
The Immortals feature this week featured a band called The Outlaws and all nearly 10 minutes of Green Grass and High Tides. It is a great bit of music, guitar lovers, and Southern Rock dudes this one’s for you.

Motörhead – Inferno
Rammstein – Mein Teil

Episode 29 of Season 6 went out at 19h00 on 20 July 2023 on Rebel Rock Radio. It was unusual in that we had two interviews this week as opposed to the usual one. We chatted to Jacques van der Merwe about ‘Let It Fall’ the brand-new single released by When Angels Come. Catch this at around 1:30. The second interview is with Chaos Doctrine main Man Dr. D and it was a very cool chat we had before introducing their brand new track for the first time on the radio. It is called 'One of My Bad Days' and it gets released tomorrow morning (Friday 21 July).
This week’s Immortals track featured ‘Cabo Wabo’ a track off Van Halen’s OU812 album. From there we went to the Diabolical Challenge and checked out 4 albums from 1995. The albums were: ACDC – Ballbreaker, White Zombie – Astro Creep 2000, Ozzy Osbourne – Ozzmosis, and Oasis – (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?. The tracks were 'Ballbreaker', 'Super Charger Heaven', 'Old L.A.', and 'Some Might Say' respectively The view was as good as Ozzy and ACDC are they were not peaking in’95 whereas White Zombie and Oasis definitely were. Oasis for the win.
Artists featured: Iron Maiden, Accept, BlackØwl, Cinderella, Badlands, Godsmack, Drowning Pool, Jethro Tull, Scorpions, Dio, Chickenfoot, Green Day, Joe Jackson, The Clash, Slash, Q5, Smith / Kotzen Joel Hoekstra’s 13, Clutch, When Angels Came, Warrant, The Wildhearts, Tesla, Mastodon, The Rolling Stones, Van Halen, ACDC, White Zombie, Ozzy Osbourne, Oasis, Skid Row, Overkill, Chaos Doctrine, Def Leppard, Marvelous 3.

A couple have people have asked if I will put up the TSORR Turbo edition which goes out every Friday from 18h00 - 19h00 on Bulldogs Radio. It is only 60 min and it is designed to bring on the weekend, there is very little chatter and it's loaded with Classic Rock and Metal. Ideal for a short drive somewhere with the volume up and the windows down.
See what you think, if you dig it I will put up some more.

Episode 28 of Season 6 went out live at 19h00 on Rebel Rock Radio on 13 July 2023. Following on from The Rock Doctor’s Rock Power Play Turbo show it was necessary to keep the pace. It has been freezing in Johannesburg this week with Temperatures getting down below zero and we actually had snow which happens about once every 20 years. It made sense to kick off with The Boomtown Rats ‘Wind Chill Factor Minus Zero’.
The big news this week was an interview with the multitalented SA Rock legend Mark Haze. Mark had some kind words to say about the old days when I met him at the very, very start of his musical career. Our 5 minute interview went on a bit longer and would have gone even longer if we didn’t call time in the interest of the music. We were incredibly privileged to hear Gareth Haze’s new track ‘Home’. Mark is busy working with Gareth on his debut album, really looking forward to hearing it in a few months' time.
The Immortals section of the show featured Dire Straits and the opening track of their third album Making Movies. The track is of course ‘Tunnel of Love’, it is an amazing preview of how Mark Knopfler was developing as a songwriter and showed the path to their mega-selling Love Over Gold album.
This week's Ultimate Challenge was a problem. We looked at 1983 and started with 6 albums. I managed to whittle it down during the week by leaving out Ozzy Osbourne’s Bark At The Moon and Mötley Crüe’s Shout At The Devil. This left us with Def Leppard – Pyromania, Iron Maiden – Piece of Mind, Dio – Holy Diver, and Metallica – Kill ‘Em All. So very hard, Pyromania sold the most by far, Holy Diver is one of the most beloved debut albums of all time, and Kill ‘Em All changed the face of metal forever. It also marks the point where the Ultimate Challenge ended. Not the concept but the name, it is now known as The Diabolical Challenge.
Artists featured: The Boomtown Rats, Skid Row, Ratt, U.D.O., Buckcherry, Extreme, Mammoth WVH, Joel Hoekstra, Disturbed, Shinedown, James Reyne, Cold Chisel, Rory Gallagher, Billy F. Gibbons, The Black Cat Bones, Ignite, Seether, Godsmack, Gareth Haze with Mark Haze, 12th Avenue, Megadeth, Dire Straits, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Dio, Metallica, Butch Walker, David Bowie, The Clash, Tom Petty, Wolfmother, Badlands, winery Dogs, Greta Van Fleet

S6E27 went out live at 7 pm on Thursday 76 July 1023 on Rebel Rock Radio. It was a pleasure to pick up from where the Rock Doctor left off. It is a great pleasure to welcome Mario to Rebel Rock Radio and he set a perfect platform for the show.
This week’s Ultimate Challenge was from the year 1974, the albums were Queen – Queen II, David Bowie – Diamond Dogs, UFO – Phenomenon, and The Rolling Stones – It’s Only Rock and Roll
We had new tracks from Mammoth WVH and Therapy? Wolfgang Van Halen apparently used Eddies original Frankenstrat and one of the Marshalls he used on Van Halen 1. So happy Wolfie has taken hold of the flame.
The Immortals this week paid tribute to all our friends in the USA and we wished them an awesome Independence Day earlier this week. To celebrate we played Bruce Springsteen’s 4th of July, Ashbury Park (Sandy) off Live '75 - '85, one of the best live albums ever made imho.
We also had a short interview with Truth Decayed’s front man Ryno Theron and played 'Vicious Circles' off their brand new EP Faded Visions II
It was a great little show and we had some fun, thanks to those who tuned in a contributed with requests and comments.

Episode 26 of season 6 went out live at 19h00 on 29 June 2023 on Rebel Rock Radio. The show kicked off with Buffalo Springfield and ‘For What Its Worth’, a track that Rush’s Alex Lifeson says he most wishes he had written. It made sense to then go straight into a song he did write, Rush with Freewill. There is plenty to get excited about on this show, a good mix of old, new, heavy, and light. Check the artists featured below to get the playlist, it's in order so you kind find things fairly easily.
The new releases included another track from Jelly Roll off his Whitsitt Chapel album which I predict is going to go straight to the top of the charts, another track off Extreme’s latest album Six. and then 'Hearing Voices' off the Foo Fighters latest release But Here We Are.
The Immortals featured W.A.S.P. and their magnificent 'Chainsaw Charlie (Murders In the New Morgue)' off The Crimson Idol, one of the finest concept albums ever released by a metal band.
This week's Ultimate Challenge looked at 2018. The choices were Greta Van Fleet – Anthems of a Peaceful Army, Halestorm – Vicious, Black Label Society – Grimmest Hits, and Judas Priest – Firepower. We threw in Shinedowns Attention Attention for a bit of fun.

Episode 25 went out live on Rebel Rock Radio at 7pm on 22 June 2023. The show kicked off with ‘Brown Sugar’ and got even sweeter after that. Please note that there is about a minute of silence at around 37:00, there was a technical problem, please be patient it comes back strong.
We heard from Philistine who updated us on the banning of their brand-new album Seranim. The album was due for release on 20 June and has been banned from the main platforms. The Immortals slot featured Iron Maiden with Paul DiAnno on vocals and a track called ‘Phantom of the Opera. In between we had classics from led zeppelin, ACDC, Dio, and David Bowie. See the artists featured below.

Episode 23 of Season 6 was a fantastic affair. It went out live on Rebel Rock Radio on 8 June 2023 at precisely 7pm. The airwaves were treated to the power and majesty of Judas Priest with 'Screaming For Vengeance'. From there it was a flurry of Deep Purple, Tesla, Airbourne and .......... see Artists Featured below for the list.
This show was special because we had a worldwide exclusive launch of the second track off the forthcoming Philistine album Seranim, this one's called 'Leviticus' and it's seriously great. We also had the launch of a new feature called Mystery Song. This is a track sent to me by Metal Jaco, I agreed not to listen to it up front so was totally in the dark as to what we are going to hear. Anyway if I tell you what Mystery Track was it will spoil the podcast. It was classified by a listener as 'Linda Take Walk' Music but it went down well.
The Immortals this week was a bit different, and we listened to Frank Zappa’s masterpiece ‘Titties and Beer’. The Ultimate Challenge as usual got people talking, once the music started shit got real, Megadeth took it with Machine Head and Bush after that. For what its worth my pick was Machine Head.
As menetioned TSORR had exclusive rights to be the first to play Philistines second release off their forthcoming album Sensium. I had a great 5 min interview which quickly went to 8 min and could easily have gone an hour. I am thinking of interviewing them again when the album launches and doing a Rock Review style one hour special when its released. Let me know if you like that idea.
For the rest it was a pretty heavy show albeit with a slower taper off at the end. I hope you enjoy it. Check out the website and Facebook pages for all tings TSORR. If you want a copy of the book The Story of Rock and Roll get in touch.

Episode 22 of Season 6 aired on 1 June 2023 on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00 sharp. We kicked off with The Cult and officially welcomed in a cold Johannesburg winter with a track called Sun King. From there it was up-tempo heavy stuff with Stone Temple Pilots, Papa Roach, Raven, and Rage Against the Machine. You can check out who played below in the artists featured section.
New releases included stuff from Buck Cherry and Greta Van Fleet. There were tracks from the Foo Fighters and from Avenged Sevenfold but we didn’t get to them which tells you something about the show.
I did a big cheat for the Immortals this week and played ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ off Who’s Next, it’s a big cheat because the Ultimate Challenge looked at 4 albums from 1971 and I could not decide what to choose. There was Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers, Bowie - Hunky Dory, The Doors – LA Woman, Deep Purple – Fireball and they got sidelined for Led Zeppelin IV, Black Sabbath – Master of Reality, Jethro Tull – Aqualung, and Uriah Heep – Look at Yourself. So I put The Who’s ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ as the Immortals Track.
Artists featured: The Cult, Stone Temple Pilots, Papa Roach, Raven, Rage Against The Machine, Gov’t Mule, Ross Harding, Seether, Megadeth, Metallica, BlackØwl, Buck Cherry, Greta Van Fleet, Clutch, Faith No More, Airbourne, Ayron Jones, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, The Sweet, Marvelous 3, The Police, Massive Wagons, Nevada Beach, The Who, Uriah Heep, Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Live, Manowar, Memorium, Warrior Soul, Onslaught
