In this episode, I tell you the amazing story of Rostam's birth, one of the most legendary heroes in Persian literature. This is part one since Rostam's story does not end here. Tune in for next episode in which I tell you about his Seven Quests.

Written by Ferdowsi, Shahnameh or The Book of Kings, took 33 years to finish and it was completed in early 11th century. It is a hallmark of Persian literature and culture, filled with incredible mythical stories.

  • The first part of each episode is a retelling of the actual story from Shahnameh which I put my own spin on it; but this retelling only adds more atmospheric elements to the story to make it more intriguing to the listener. I do not change the original story, simply add more stage directions to it.
