In the 1980’s and 90’s read along books accompanied by vinyl records or cassette tapes were the peak of achieving an interactive reading experience. Through these formats you could unlock your imagination as you read along, seemingly becoming part of the adventure. This week’s selection is one such book; a movie based read along from the 80’s classic movie “The Goonies”. Why this book you ask? The Goonies represented what you could accomplish through deep friendship and teamwork. They were a group of kids from all walks of life brought together with the goal of saving something important. Narrated by a young Jeff Cohen (chunk), the book deviates away from the movie a bit in order to give the listener a shortened read along adventure that both appealed and lightened up on the teen humor. This book is a must for any movie aficionado interested in giving their child a fun listening experience full of valuable lessons. And remember listeners...our Book It! Episodes are 100 percent clean and safe for listeners of all ages! Find out why “The Goonies” never day die right here on Strange Retro!
