A parable is a simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson.  This parable was told by Russell Conwell around the1800's to encourage his audiences to find their own acres of diamonds.  This parable has been adapted. 

When writing a personal story, tell something about yourself.  This story is about having determination when faced with challenges.

Fairytales are old but popular.  They have magical elements.  That is the best part.  Often they start with "Once upon a time."
