The Lead Masks Case is unsettling not because of its visible brutality, but because of its precision, its preparation, and the unanswered question of its intention.

Two men walked up a hill in Brazil in 1966. They brought raincoats, a notebook, water bottles, and carefully crafted lead masks to cover their eyes. Days later, they were found dead, lying side by side, with no visible injuries and no clear explanation.
