  • 333: WCW Road Wild '97 Deep Dive
The greatest wrestling week of Nick's life ends with WCW Road Wild '97 live from Sturgis, South Dakota. Lex Luger would lose to "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, the Steiner Brothers wouldn't win the WCW World Tag Team Championships, and no Sting. So who cares? We do.
Join us as we dive deep into the famous Sturgis rally this week.

  • 332 Part 2: WCW Monday Nitro - August 4, 1997 Deep Dive
This episode of WCW Monday Nitro is one of Nick's top wrestling shows ever. He recounts how he recorded the replay of this show on VHS, in addition to some other adult-oriented items on that VHS. Hey, we were coming up on WCW's adult-themed pay-per-view, Road Wild, so why not?
Lex Luger would beat "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan for the WCW Championship on this night, and even though he only held the title for five nights, this show still has one of the greatest moments in wrestling due to many factors. Also, Ted DiBiase joined the Steiner Brothers after leaving the nWo, Curt Hennig and DDP are in the midst of a heated feud, much like Lee Marshall and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, and so much more on this episode of Nitro.

  • 331 Part 2: WWF Fully Loaded '99 Deep Dive
In what could only be described as divine intervention, this week is our WWF Fully Loaded '99 deep dive courtesy of a Patreon request. It was billed as the End of an Era as if Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated The Undertaker in a WWF Championship First Blood Match, then Vince McMahon would be gone from WWF for good.
Of course, Austin won. Vince left. For a few days. Then he was back and eventually WWF Champion before the end of the year.
Take a deep dive with us for Part 2 of episode 331 as we discuss all of that and more from July 25, 1999 in Buffalo, NY as WWF presented Fully Loaded 1999.

    Interesting timing.

  • CLASSIC 292: WWF In Your House 16: Canadian Stampede '97 Deep Dive
Here's a classic episode covering WWF In Your House 16: Canadian Stampede, that was originally recorded in July 2021.

    ...

The WWF in 1997 had some very, very good things, and some very, very bad things.

Their July pay-per-view offering in Calgary, Alberta, Canada was one of the best events they produced that year. With a very dynamic and non-traditional babyface Hart Foundation in Canada vs. those American jerks of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Goldust, Ken Shamrock and the Legion of Doom, the roles would be reversed if you just crossed the border into the United States. Looking back, it may be one of the best angles in wrestling history.

The Calgary Stampede is a staple event each year, so the World Wrestling Federation decided to piggyback off that and dive deep into the western Cowboy scene on this pay-per-view weekend.

Nick and Vaughn discuss everything surrounding the event, where they were in life, and what they thought about each and every moment of this pay-per-view, and even the world of wrestling during this time period.

    The card:
    • Hunter Hearst Helmsley (w/ Chyna) vs. Mankind
    • The Great Sasuke vs. Taka Michinoku
    • WWF Championship: The Undertaker (c) defeated Vader (with Paul Bearer)
    • 10-Man Tag Team Match: The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart/Owen Hart/British Bulldog/Jim Neidhart/Brian Pillman) vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin/Goldust/Ken Shamrock/Legion of Doom (Animal/Hawk)

BUT FIRST, we talk about the bombshell report by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com that CM Punk is in talks with AEW about returning to the squared circle, which joins another hot rumor that WWE is expecting Daniel Bryan to sign with AEW if he didn't already. Absolute needle-movers that could finally start the shift of the balance of power in professional wrestling. The guys discuss their thoughts on the reports and rumors and what they'd like to see happen.

  • 329: WCW Great American Bash '96 Deep Dive
This week, we head to 1996 WCW, just weeks after Scott Hall appeared for the first time on WCW Monday Nitro. He and Kevin Nash would have a surprise in store for Eric Bischoff at that year's Great American Bash. So would Kevin Greene with his monster promo skills, Steve McMichael making the most shocking turn in WCW in the summer of 1996, and plenty more good stuff!
But first, we talk about Vince McMahon thinking he's literally a god that can get away with everything, and the passing of Tim White and Dave Hebner.
