Romans 9 tackles some of the biggest questions in all of Scripture, including God's sovereignty, human choice, and what it truly means to be saved. Paul opens with a broken heart for his fellow Israelites, grieving that so many missed the Messiah they had been waiting for. Salvation has never been based on ethnicity, family heritage, or religious zeal. It has always been by faith. God's election does not erase human responsibility, and His mercy does not compromise His justice, because Jesus satisfied both completely. Whether Jew or Gentile, every person stands in the same need of grace. Faith in Jesus Christ is the only path to righteousness, and it always has been.
