It's Friday night and you tell yourself, "I'll just work this weekend. Get on top of things. Next week will be better." So you work Saturday. You work Sunday. And by Sunday night you're still behind, and Monday is already coming for you. If that sounds familiar, this first episode of The Sunday CEO is for you.
That was me at 24. My first business was growing faster than I could keep up with, and I grew it without systems. So it ran on me. I worked seven days a week. I missed lunch with the girls. I couldn't catch up with Mum and Dad. I didn't get to see my nan. The things that mattered most were the things I gave away, and eventually I had to ask myself the question I want you to ask too: is it all worth it?
Here's the thing. A fast-growing business is a good problem to have. But growth without systems and processes doesn't give you freedom. It takes your weekends. That Sunday night dread has a name, the Sunday Scaries, and for years I thought it was just the price of being in business. It's not.
Today, my husband Brad and I run two businesses from five acres in the Perth Hills, with our son Toby, on two days of childcare a week. To be clear, I don't work two days a week. We have two days of childcare and we work everything else around life. The only reason that works is systems. This podcast is how I got from there to here, told honestly.
The Sunday CEO is my diary. It's not five steps to grow your business, and it's not a masterclass with a microphone. It's real talk about running a business as a woman and a mum. I share why I'm a consultant and not a coach (I have a view, and I'll give it to you). I share why, in 2017, I bought a digital magazine with a membership, and why I swore I'd never buy into a business again. And then why I just did, buying into Perth Resale Specialists fifty-fifty with a client after a year of knowing the business inside out.
So what is a Sunday CEO? She runs her business instead of it running her. She still lives a life full of joy. She makes the girls' lunch. She sees her family. She's ambitious, she just refuses to believe the only way to grow is more hours. She has sales engines bringing in sales all the time, clear marketing built on the Everyday Sales Engine, systems that run the business, and she uses AI the good way: AI that takes the load, not your voice.

If you've ever given away your weekend and still walked into Monday behind, you're not the only one. The women doing less are making more, and every week I'll show you what that looks like in real life, wins and mess included. Follow The Sunday CEO so you never miss an episode, and send this one to the friend who's still working Sunday nights. She needs it.
