Today we discuss a new topic for us - managing grief. Our guest today is a mother to an angel. She shares with us her story of dealing with this tragedy and how fitness and her community helped her through it and gives her strength even to today. She carries her child with her always and uses that to motivate herself and so many others through her Instagram - @runningtoheal_ and her blog rememberingzoe.blogspot.com. Her insight and reflection are inspiring and from it we learn about how to engage people who are dealing with grief, and some ways to help cope if you yourself are dealing with it.
Before the interview, Meredith and Sheldon talk about their New Year's plans, Sheldon does a Rage Room, candle circumcisions, and Meredith sets up her new workout room!

Lots of news to hit about the connected fitness community including some new innovations and speculation about a major connected company being purchased (totally rumors btw). One boxing based company offering 100 free classes as well! And what fast food chain just added exercise bikes in them? I know, right?
We finish up the episode with predictions and shout outs. New gear? What new features will we see? New class types? We will hit a whole bunch of fun predictions. And for shout outs? We flip the script and let our audience shout out to the instructors in the New Year.

Sheldon also owes someone a roll of paper towels to help wipe up all of the sweat he pooled when borrowing their bike. We also introduce the Echelot family to "Whamageddon". If you know, you know, but if you don't... get ready for a fun holiday tradition.
Our guest, Mari Espinoza, tells us about her amazing journey to fitness and then becoming a fitness instructor. As a mother of four, balance and routine are the name of the game and Mari shares some of her secrets and talks about how her "strong mind, strong body" mantra is so important to making it all work. She tells us how she actually said "no" to joining Echelon initially (for important reasons) but serendipity made it her reality.... just in time for a pandemic to hit.

Today we welcome one of Echelon rider lore and legend. She joined Echelon as it started its ascent and quickly became a mainstay on the community page .... as well as in the studio itself. Her journey is one of challenges, decisions, pain, and happiness and she lets us behind the curtain to tell us her path. Whether you are a veteran rider or new to Echelon, you will find inspiration in her story. It wasn't all fun, but she made the tough decisions to give herself the life she knew she deserved. Oh and along the way decided to take on the world of endurance sports by signing up (well... she may have had some help with that...) for triathlons!
In the pre-interview part of the show we talk about Sheldon's upcoming trip to a special place, Thanksgiving traditions, and how we are both loving and hating a show we are both watching.
Post interview is full of content with LOTS of industry news like how Peloton lost $10B in market cap faster than it takes Sheldon to finish a double cheeseburger.... spoiler alert, that's fast. New equipment and Black Friday deals abound as well.

We end it with a new Snackdown where the HATERS decide the winner!
Well! What can we say about today's guest?! We are honored and excited to interview the CEO of Echelon Fit - the one and only Lou Lentine. We covered a wide swath of topics from Lou's journey as an entrepreneur, to the early Echelon days, to the exciting future of products, features, and content that lies ahead! We learn a LOT and it was wonderful to hear and (for us) see the passion that Lou has for Echelon and its members.

Then in the post interview we dive into lots of Industry news: new products in the weight category, lululemon slips into shoes and launches a Black Friday deal on Mirror, Peloton on delta and dealing with some not so great news on pay disparity, Apple gets chummy, and Echelon has some exciting products coming!

Happy Diwali!
We end the show with Sheldon getting quizzed about diabetes in recognition of American Diabetes Awareness month.
Echelon Instructor Shana Saka is our guest today and she brings a great conversation. We talk about the journey she has had from a place where she was confident and happy but wanting to make a change in her health, to discovering the importance of finding a guide that aligns to your needs and goals.
We also discuss her path to being an instructor. He goal was to make the changes that her trainer helped make for her for at least one person - then she would be happy. Well, she's done this for thousands in both her personal training business as well as at Echelon. She talks about the (sometimes challenging) path and how her determination made it happen. We wrap up talking about french fries, music, and her new podcast - Let's Get Real: Fitness, Fries, Feels

We talk about how she still gets nervous before a class (and that's a good thing), building confidence through authenticity, and about how she balances being a badass fitness instructor with being the mom of a super talented youth athlete.
We also discuss how essentially if you hang out at all with Eden Lusk, you're definitely getting roped into a triathlon.... of which Marsha has completed multiple of.
