For the first time since hosting the tournament in 1954, the Swiss men are back to the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup. Switzerland have advanced to the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup. They had to go through a group consisting of co-hosts Canada, 2022 hosts Qatar and a tough Bosnian side. After topping the group, they have drawn Algeria and look to advance to the round of 16.
Sankt Gallen and Grasshopper both saw off challenges from Challenge League sides to ensure Super League dominance. In this episode, possibly the last I do before the start of next season, we will quickly go over the 2025/26 Brack Super League campaign and rate how the 12 sides did.
The 2025/26 Swiss Football Season has (almost) come to an end. Vaduz gained automatic promotion by winning the Challenge League on the last day of the regular season. Christian Fassnacht secured the scoring title and surpassed Matteo Di Gusto for the highest G+A of the year. Switzerland's World Cup roster is out, and more on today's (late) episode.
Grasshopper fall to Zurich as Winterthur top Lausanne. The relegation race is still alive and well. Luzern and Servette play to a 3-3 draw white Young Boys batter Basel. Finally, Thun lost another match to Sion, Sankt Gallen won at Lugano to grab a firm hold of 2nd place, and the Swiss Association of Football Players named their best XI of the tournament.
FC Thun secure their first major trophy by winning the Super League. They had to wait for Sankt Gallen to fall to high flying Sion, but the new Swiss champions have finally made history.
Sion won away at Basel for the first time in Brack Super League history. Meanwhile, Thun lost home to Lugano and Sankt Gallen won at Young Boys to hold off the title celebrations for another week. Elsewhere, Servette, Lausanne and Luzern all secured three points.
Stade Lausanne-Ouchy and Sankt Gallen will contest the Swiss Cup Final as Thun beat Basel to go within one match of securing their first title in club history. Saturday at 2:30 PM EST, home against Lugano, could be the historic match for Thun
