It’s here where Jenny was vulnerable & brave enough to primarily talk about the addiction chapter of the book, where we get to learn about Jenny’s story, and that’s her story about living with and through her eating disorder and how she found self love again!  ….plus she worked on a cruise ship, how fun is that?!

In this Episode, I sat down and chatted with the Midwestern rooted Megh Knappenberger.  

She once owned her own Design company, but after having her baby & experiencing a serious injury, things shifted.  Having returned to work after her accident, she realized she wasn't happy there and needed to Swerve.  That's when she made the decision to become a full-time Painter!  Since then, she's worked hard to recover and is now a well known Kansas City fine art painter who's been featured in The Kansas City Star, ESPN Kansas City, The University Daily Kansan and seen on KC Live TV.  She became the first and only artist to be licensed by the KU Jayhawks and has even collaborated with the American Heart Association by painting a Wonder Woman piece that consisted of 33 carats of loose diamonds!  What other crazy items has she used in her paintings? 

But, it didn't happen in a day and it took resilience.  Listen now to hear her story on what all led to her Swerve, how she landed her biggest sales & where she's at today!

In this episode I sat to chat with Kristen Rock Chouinard.  She's as real as it gets.  Kristen is a Kansas City based SELF TAUGHT abstract artist. She runs a successful art business where she sells to both individuals and businesses, and you may have also seen her on the Better KC Morning Show on KCTV.  However, she's not always been an artist and actually had to intention of becoming one.   We talk about how life sometimes makes decisions to for you to push you to a new life purpose that better suits you in that phase of your life.  Kristen actually started off in Marketing, where she spent 10 years working 80 hour a week, and after putting her blood sweat and tears into it, she was fired one day.  Rude, right?

Using painting as a form of healing through that tough time, she realized she felt physically, emotionally and mentally better and ultimately decided to stick with it.  And look at her now!  Kirsten takes us through ending what she's known for 10 years and starting new again....

In this Episode, I sit down with Sierra Winter, Designer and Owner of Sierra Winter Jewelry.  She had the passion, the drive and all the signs telling her to start her own jewelry line...but right after quitting her 9-5 job as a jewelry designer for a company and taking the leap to start her own business, the challenges started rolling in one after another. The ones that make you question "Is this the right time? should I still do this?".

She talks about all the of family challenges she faced during the first year, how she personally swerved through them and why she kept such a sharp stubborn (her words!) focus on her goal to keep Sierra Winter Jewelry running.

In Episode 07,  I sat with Molly Buchanan and got to know a little more about the woman behind the blog, www.crowningglory.blog. 

The stories in this podcast are all about peoples Swerves, and wow has she had to swerve around some major life roadblocks.  Between fighting (and beating) uterine cancer, to then having to face two years of infertility, she is the epitome of what strength, hope and gratitude look like.   Her journey ultimately led her and her husband Chad to the greatest gift of all…the adoption of baby Jack, short for Jack Attack obviously.  

You will hear about the roadblocks she faced, how she handled the emotions of each swerve, the weirdest drink she tried during her infertility, and also some step by step tips & what to expect with the adoption process and even a few resources she used throughout.  Every swerve had it’s purpose….

Not only does her story help empower those wanting to swerve from one profession to the next, but she also shares a very vulnerable part of her life with us in where she was faced with the challenge of becoming healthy again after her experience with sexual assault & releasing herself from it being  her identity, in hopes to offer comfort and support to the women and men who may benefit from it.  This experience has fueled her passion about health and coaching even more so and I can’t wait for you to hear her story!

This is a discussion about how a 'Swerver' and a 'Non-Swerver' can coexist.  We share our struggles, challenges and the arguments that we have had with being completely different people with different life views, different goals, and different ways that we are each fulfilled.  You will hear about the lessons we have learned, how we each have compromised, and the tips and tricks we have used to... not kill each other ... but at the end of the day, support each others happiness!
