Do you have a pacemaker? Well then this episode is a must for you to listen to. I had to have an MRI done earlier this week and when you have a pacemaker, that procedure may be a little bit different than for a "normal" patient. And if you are not a pacemaker honoree, this may be interesting for you to listen to anyway because I was so wrong in my expectations about this procedure as I possibly could be!

I was sitting scrolling Facebook when a woman had posted in a Swedish group that she had been highlighted in an equestrian magazine. Meet Linda Helin. She moved from Sweden to US to fulfill an idea and dream. To have a riding school in California. And here she is. Living her life on a vineyard surrounded by horses. What are the differences between the Swedish and the American equestrian life? And of course, what does she miss from Sweden?

Living with a heart problem sometimes causes drama... There is quite a dramatic reason for this episode to be a couple of days late.
I refer to my private website in this episode; you can see clips from the event on www.swedeintexas.com.
This is absolutely not a political podcast and will never be. But to not mention the situation in Ukraine would be wrong. Yesterday the Russians invaded in Swedish air space. How do I feel about that as a Swede?
Yesterday was Texas Independence Day. Why isn't it celebrated more? And a big shoutout to Frida, our guest in Episode 31... listen and you will find out what she accomplished!

It was planned to have a guest this week but schedules didn't work out the way we wanted so this is a little improvised episode. How about some Super Bowl, Olympic Games and a story about what someone called me this week that made my day! You better listen to find out about that!

American author Florence Wetzel fell in love with Sweden and Scandinavia from the books by Stieg Larsson.
She has learned Swedish and has now published her new book Annikas Förråd (Annikas Storage Space) in Swedish and then translated into English!
We talk about her view of Sweden, Swedes, Swedish habits and the language. What is Lagom? And what is a Shoehorn? Food, traditions and all fun stuff!
Check out our website www.swexan.net for links to where you can find Florence's books and publications
