In Joshua chapter 10, Joshua prays boldly for something unthinkable. There's no real insight or formula for sun-stand-still type prayers where God will do what we want and how we want it. 

But as you read through Joshua,  you’ll notice how often Joshua prays and how often God speaks to him…

So, in this sermon, Dusty offers some principles about prayer that will get you what you want most deeply because it’ll draw you closer to the presence and person of God (which is what the human soul wants most!)

In a military journal (the book of Joshua), the second chapter tells the story of Rahab, a Prostitute in the pagan land of Jericho. In an ancient, male-driven, barbaric world, devoting a full chapter to a woman on the outskirts of society AND HER being the HERO of this part of the story … doesn’t make sense.

Like many  moments in Bible, this detail would never occur to ancient imagination and be included … unless it happened!

 And Rahab is more than an odd part of this moment in Israel's history. Her story transcends this moment, teaching lessons of faith AND, whether you knew it or not, it was a part of shaping ur faith; you’ll see...

How Jesus Ruins New Years (Luke 10:25-37)

The average New Years resolution fizzles out after 32 days. Lots of reasons for this, but a big reason is that the ones that fizzle are just wishes, they aren’t perspective shifts that turn into actual plans because plans and practices are risky, uncomfortable and costly. But true resolve begins by asking difficult QUESTIONS…

And often the questions alone leave us flustered, and fearful...wooing us back to wishfully thinking. And wishful thinking is usually abandoned by making excuses and looking for loopholes!

 Jesus Ruins New Years by constantly asking questions (there are over 300 recorded questions Jesus asked in the Gospels), offering tradition altering, world-view shattering and often unthinkable truths and then He demands us to wrap ourselves up in its practice!

In this sermon, Dusty shows how, with just one question, Jesus shatters our pretense to find loopholes and make excuses for obeying the heart of God.

Christmas is magical for a lot of reasons, but in the end it’s all about who you’re with;  no one wants to do relationships long distance...Neither does God, He wants to be "with you!" A nickname given to the Messiah (Isa 7:14), to Jesus hundreds of years before His birth, is Immanuel ( “God with us”).

 God WITH us, God FOR us, so that God’s Spirit would be IN us: That’s the purpose of Christmas.
