Welcome to this 5-Day Series of Mini-Stories for the Festival of Diwali!

Diwali is a bouquet of festivals, which starts with Dhanteras (day 1), continues through Narak Chaturdashi (day 2), Diwali/Lakshmi Puja (day 3), Govardhan Puja (day 4), and ends with Bhai-dooj (day 5.)

Starting today, I’ll tell you the story behind the festival tomorrow. Today, I bring you the Story of Dhanteras.

        A Note from Shafali:

Unlike the other episodes of The Tab Se Ab Tak Show, this episode hasn’t been recorded extempore (except its beginning and end.) I have recited the story as my own poem, which I wrote as an ode to Ma Jagadamba.

                ... ... ...

My slightly poetic and somewhat nostalgic explanation to Hindi, who thinks that I left her for English.
