God had promised the gift of a savior for 4000 years before he finally arrived. The Messiah’s birth was in somewhat scandalous circumstances by the world’s standards, but His mission was to set every scandal right.

Our faith stands on a promise. The promise of The Messiah, The Christ.

Glory Of The Lord

The furnishings of a house are what complete a design, provide comfort, and make it a home. When God furnishes a house, he provides everything that is needed, along with intricate detail and beauty.

The building project continues with the details of Solomon’s palace complex, and if we aren’t careful this text can just become detail after detail. When in reality Jesus is all over the pages; if we look closely we will see that these verses point us to the reality that The Gospel is the greatest building project of all.

The greatest structure ever built was the house that Solomon built for the name of the Lord. Its greatness was not because of its size, beauty, or grandeur, but because of who would dwell there.

Jesus promised that the born again will enter the Kingdom of God. That Kingdom is both a spiritual rule in our hearts and his literal reign on earth. But what does His Kingdom look like?
