Sermon preached by Father Matt Tebbe at The Table (online) worship gathering on Sunday, March 22nd. 4th Sunday of Lent. Second Sunday meeting remote during the Coronavirus shutdown.
Ben and Matt reflect on four aspects of the early church that seem to be present at The Table, which gives hope for our ability to weather the current crisis.
In times of crisis we often reach for the phrase "God is in control" to bring comfort and hope. But this is theologically and pastorally problematic. Ben and Matt reflect on why saying "God is love" is a better alternative.
Ben and Matt reflect on how it has been difficult to pray because of the barrage of news lately, and pray a litany for those flooded by too much information.
