Joseph went through so many different challenges and trials in his life. And yet, in the midst of his hardships, we are told time and again that "The Lord was with him."

From the very beginning, Scripture points toward Jesus. In Genesis 3, we see humanity fall into sin and the reality of spiritual warfare but even in the middle of judgment, God gives a promise: one day, the serpent’s head will be crushed. In this message, we trace that promise through the story of Scripture and discover how Jesus is the promised seed who defeats Satan, conquers sin and death, and brings us victory. Even though we still face temptation and spiritual warfare, the battle is not hopeless, the victory has already been won

In the first week of The Big Picture, Thomas explores Luke 24 and the road to Emmaus to show us that Jesus is the key to understanding Scripture. The disciples were so “zoomed in” on their circumstances that they missed Jesus standing right in front of them. Jesus opened the Scriptures and showed them how everything pointed to Him. We’ll explore how the Old Testament points forward to Jesus and how He makes sense of everything.

The book of Colossians is all about being rooted in Christ. This week, we introduce the book by reading through Colossians 1:1-14 and learning what  Paul hopes to accomplish in writing it. He wants the Colossians, and by extension, us, to know fully, walk worthily, and endure joyfully.
