In this message from our Prayer teaching series, Pastor David invites us into a deeper relationship with God by embracing radical honesty in our prayer life. Drawing from the raw and unfiltered prayers of the Psalms, the book of Habakkuk, and the prayers of Jesus before his death, we challenge the idea that God only hears our polite, religious, happy prayers. Instead, we’re encouraged to bring our whole, unfiltered selves—our anger, our grief, our doubts, and our disappointments—before a God who desires real relationship with us. And real relationship requires honesty.

To begin our teaching series on prayer, Pastor David opens with the story of the disciples of Jesus praying and waiting in Acts 1. We then explore our experience of waiting in Romans 8:18-25.
