The Table's Edge

Michael Charge returns and goes firm with Dan and Ben for a detailed breakdown of the Skirmish Sangin Version 2 beta rules. There is a lot of talk about how the game stacks up to Spectre Operations. Bonus points to Michael for explaining how to run a remote game for two below average players. The TLDL (too long didn't listen) is the boys are Sangin converts. The guys then try their magic with a new segment called “Interview and Interrogation.” After a little prodding, listeners provided some questions they wanted answered. Topics covered are homebrewing rules, how to get out of a hobby slump, and must have hobby supplies. According to Dan, and to no one’s surprise, everything on his desk is a must have.

This one was recorded in September of 2022 but Dan and Ben are back! The podcast kicks off with a few months worth of hobby update and projects. Notably, Dan swoons over a new modern wargaming love (again) while Ben attempts to stay afloat for the hobby backlog challenge. In the second part of the episode the guys deliver some belated but exciting news. Please pardon some feedback noise in the news section; Ben is reporting from some field in Bazistan again.

Dan and Ben finally show signs of podcast life! The guys give a hobby sitrep including projects in progress and games played. For the main course, Dan reports on his new favorite solo game, Warfighter. The session wraps up with a look at lethal grenade rules for Spectre Operations and some modern miniatures industry news. 2 hours 4 minutes. So much for a quick episode...

Dan and Ben are back at it to kick off a new year of modern wargaming! The guys are joined by Ben’s nemesis, Anthony, for a chat about hobby lies(goals)for 2022. After some reminiscing about Anthony and Ben’s decent into Spectre madness the crew goes over rules for picking up weapons and equipment. The guys conclude the episode with a new Ultramodern Wargaming Group (discord community) challenge!

The digital studio has been taken over! Join Dan and Ben for a talk with their first special guest, Michael Charge of ChargeBlog.

Advisory: long range comms were sketchy at certain points, forgive the occasional radio feedback. Bazistani army drones were jamming our signal.

Apparently Dan and Ben have a thing for the blue helmets! The guys start off with a hobby update and then dive into a spotlight on Austin Miniatures and their Modern Marines releases. The spotlight is followed up with a look at the K9 rules for Spectre Operations. Dan closes out the episode by schooling Ben on a famed German unit, the KSK. Spoiler alert, it turns out Combat Octopus’s KSK are a very versatile kit.
