Inside of this episode I'm going to disprove what so many productivity experts and motivational speakers tout—aka the "just do it" mentality and why that's HURTING your success (NOT helping). And what you can do instead to be able to increase your productivity and breakthrough your income ceiling. 

I've been reading the book "The Productivity Project" by Chris Bailey and while it's vvv interesting so far, I have a little (or big) bone to pick with him 😜 Bailey talks about the concept of procrastination and says that while there are personality traits that make you more likely to procrastinate (aka your identity) he prefers to focus on the tasks themselves since "a task is way easier to change than your personality." 

He then adds a cute little remark saying, "Plus, you're great. Don't ever change." 

I meannnnnn. 🙄 First of all, just because somethings is easy doesn't mean it's more efficient or effective. Second of all, you CANNOT maintain the same identity and create different results. That's nearly impossible. 

He then shares how our limbic system (emotional and instinctual part of our brain) and prefrontal cortex (logical part of our brain) are in a constant battle with one another. ⚠️ Our limbic system is seeking instant gratification and pleasure and avoiding pain—hence wanting to procrastinate doing the thing that is overwhelming, boring, frustrating, etc. While on the flip side, our prefrontal cortex is fighting for us to achieve our longterm goals.

It's time to get real honest with yourself...
