A poor tailor in Gloucester is commissioned to make a coat for the Mayor's wedding. However, on Christmas Eve, he falls ill and lacks cherry-colored twist to complete the coat. During the night, the mice he spared come to his rescue. They create the most beautiful coat and waistcoat. In the morning, the tailor finds the finished coat with a note: "NO MORE TWIST".
