#TheTakeOffInterview| We are joined by motivational speaker and author of “I Was Raped and You Were Born” Scelo Mncube. Scelo had a difficult upbringing, he had to deal with what seemed like his mother not loving him, all the way until her death, following that he found a note from her saying that he was born as a result of rape.
His life has been full of hardships that he’s dealt with such as being forced to leave his home, dropping out of school, and eventually ending up living on the streets. It was while dealing with the truth behind his conception that he decided that it would not define who he was and that he had to turn his life around and to help those who have been or are going through similar times. The reason that he wrote the book was that it was a cathartic method of getting out his pain and to exercise the demons that were living in his head, after discovering the truth. His hope is that it will motivate others not to give up on life.

#TheTakeOffInterview| What is happening at Emfuleni Local Municipality , why are there so many service delivery issues?
As of yesterday Rand Water implemented the credit control measures at Emfuleni reducing water pressure due to the non-payment for services rendered.
The water pressure has been reduced by 20%.
The municipality has failed to honour the agreements made to settle the outstanding amounts due to Rand Water
The Emfuleni municipality includes areas such as Vereeniging, Vanderbijlpark, Evaton and Sebokeng
Parliament's portfolio committee on co-operative governance and traditional affairs (Cogta) recently blasted the municipality for its lack of procurement oversight and failed financial controls.
Irregular expenditure topped R1.1bn in the 2018/19 year as a result of the municipality failing to comply with supply-chain management regulations or the Municipal Finance Management Act which set out the required process to solicit competitive bids and quotes. The municipality incurred irregular expenditure of R670m. 33 of its current and former employees, as well as private companies, are now being fingered.
The Emfuleni Local Municipality has announced that it will be taking “steps” to recover misused funds totalling at least R670 million by 33 of its current and former employees, as well as private companies.
Emfuleni’s supply chain management and the fleet department employees are among those implicated in a report by forensic investigation company Comperio, which revealed massive looting within the municipality during the past five years.
