School readiness to open
Guest: Matakanye Matakanye, General Secretary of the National Association of School Governing Bodies (NASGB)
You have always disputed the rosy picture being painted by the national and provincial departments on school readiness, what do you say today, are schools ready to open?
What are your main concerns? Are they being addressed?
What is your message to parents, when can they confidently send their kids to school?

#TheTakeOffInterview |As both grade 7 and 12 pupils are expected to go back to the classroom next week, some parents are considering not sending their children to school fearing they might be infected with the virus. Some parents are considering home schooling as an option. Has lockdown motivated you to consider homeschooling your children? What are the pros and cons of home-schooling?

Guest: Jeremy Gibbon , Educational Consultant with Jakes Gerwel Fellowship

There seems to be a lot of confusion and protest around The N+2 rule which was introduced by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) in 2020.
In a nutshell means that students have an additional two years to complete their degree after which the scheme ceases to fund a student for longer than this period.
N+2 rule means students only have N+2 years to finish a degree. “N” is minimum number of years allocated to complete a qualification (i.e. record time). The “+2” refers to the extra two years that a student may need to complete the qualification (making the maximum time)
Student organisations, such as the South African Students Congress (Sasco), Economic Freedom Fighters Students Command (EFFSC) and many others, are against the N+2 rule.
